Aloha,
Welcome to Hawaii's Hot Spots, the website designed to assist visitors or anyone needing information about Hawaii. Sharing free information about Hawaii is my passion, knowing what to expect before visiting Hawaii is important, if its touring Oahu in a rental car to save money, spoiling yourself at an expensive restaurant, finding free or paid attractions, finding the nightlife or just a quiet beach to relax, allow my website to help you find it.
Not all the sites listed here are the best for prices, but will be the best for information, deals, and free stuff. Always compare website prices with information/deals as much as possible before choosing, plan ahead and you will be glad you did.

The Waikiki Trolley provides shuttle service to Ala Moana Center and other locations in Waikiki. The Waikiki Trolley runs 7 days a week, every 15 minutes, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pickup at Ala Moana Center is at the Ala Moana Boulevard trolley depot. The cost is $2.00 each way and can be paid upon boarding the trolley, however exact change is required. The Pink Trolley line goes to Alamoana and the first departs from the DFS Galleria Waikiki at 930am. The last Pink Line Trolley to Alamoana is at 9:52pm, but remember Alamoana closes at 9pm M-Sat and 7pm on Sunday. TheBus can be used as well for $2.00 each way. Walking to Alamoana from Waikiki can be relaxing and allow you to get out and see the sights outside of the hotel, I recommend transportation back to your hotel after a long day.
Waikiki is very expensive, if you can, go to Salt Lake, Pearl City, and Winward areas to shop such as Pearl Ridge Center, (Aiea) Windward Mall (Kaneohe), Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center (Kaneohe), Wallmart (Pearl City), Longs Drugs Store (Pearl City), Safeway (Waimalu Shopping Center), and Sac & Save and Kmart (Stadium Marketplace). Honolulu can be pricey as well, Ala Moana Shopping Center is the largest open-air shopping center in the world and is worth a walk through, have a cup of coffee, lunch, dinner or as many do, get a gift for yourself or someone else from more than 290 shops. Eating at hotels is like living in an airport ~ very expensive, eating outside the hotel is recommended unless you enjoy living the fancy life, after it is a vacation even I loved the hotel restaurants, except the prices of course. If you like saving money, see my money saving store list.
Rental cars can save money and time versus catching a taxi and driving around Oahu is easy with my guides. Walking Waikiki's Beachwalk and Beach is nice, but very over priced if you plan on shopping, walk around and see stuff like the Aquarium or the Honolulu Zoo ~ Be creative and enjoy yourself avoiding getting caught in the tourist traps in Waikiki.
Like anywhere else theft is high for visitors, keep your valuables secured and don't leave luggage in your rental car's trunk unattended for a long time. Use travelers cheques or debit / visa cards and safe guard your valuables as much as possible. Criminals know what rental cars look like and can spot a visitor a mile away, so be safe and not sorry later. Finally be cautious of purse snatchers, they do appear now and then and it's always good practice to be aware of your surroundings ~ Hawaii is very beautiful, and full of Aloha ~ Follow these tips and have a great vacation !
